(3/11) THE GOOD WORD
Chemistry As A Superpower. Count us as true believers.
"We didn't have the answer but liked the idea of setting out to see if we could find it." It’s hard to pick a favorite moment from this conversation with Krystle Loyland and Seth Gaffney from Preacher, but that nugget is up there for us. The journey they’ve been on the last decade-plus with third founder Rob Baird is mandatory listening for anyone wanting to start something new with other humans. Chemistry as a superpower? You can count the two of us as true believers.

(3/10) CANDID CAN DO
Wakeskating, not boarding, Peter…
Having guest Aaron Reed on the show was such a joy. We brought him on thinking, "Perfect guest and opportunity to better understand Public Works, detail how towns grow or don't at their peril, and rally people to get involved locally wherever they're based to help shape better futures." And then... he starts talking about his 15 years as a professional wakeskater (incredible!), and we almost didn't leave time for the rest of it. Almost. Good fun, good-natured, and ultimately another education hour we are so grateful for.
(3/9) THE BUSINESS OF REALITY
“Let’s go for a walk.” —Death
Few people can talk about a bilateral lung transplant and its subsequent effects as powerfully, eloquently, and honestly as our dear friend David Terry did with us during this episode. Behind the curtain moments, walks with Death, mourning our own passing while alive, and love—huge love and gratitude... this is an hour we will listen to often.
(3/8) PURPOSE
What can love do for capitalism?
What can love do for capitalism? Afdhel Aziz dug into it, saw the magic, and found his purpose: to help lead the way to even better evolutions of the way we work, market, and consume. He is a founding partner and the Chief Purpose Officer of Conspiracy of Love, a purpose transformation company, and a Best Selling Author of Good is the New Cool: Market Like You Give a Damn—but his insights and ideas are applicable to so much more than business. What can love do for capitalism? It might just be up to you.

(3/7) NO-TILL THRILLS
small-scale farming is the new punk
Most of us have thought about reinventing ourselves as farmers. Before you do (or Peter does, at least), it would behoove you to check out this amazing episode with Wimberley's own Songland Farms. Dylan Kongos and Amber Denison (and even their 3-month-old, Theo, our youngest guest ever) joined us for an incredible conversation about following a calling into the jaws of a kind of rewarding chaos that probably isn't for everybody. The beauty of their spirits matches the beauty of their growing farm, and we're delighted to be able to bring a bit of their inspirational story to you!
Check them out here Songland Farms or follow their adventure at Songland Farms on Instagram.
(3/6) A BREAKDOWN ON THE FOREST FLOOR
best place to have one, if we’re being honest
There are few words to describe what an otherworldly honor it was to have musician Sandy Bell on the show right as her latest album Entelechy dropped. It's hard to say which would make more sense: listening to her transcendent collection of new songs before you check out this interview or after. We covered a ton around sobriety, creation within recovery, and how this album came to be. Sandy might just be proof that there are angels amongst us (we aren't shy about hyperbole in these parts).

(3/5) LET’S OVERSHARE
There can never be enough I in TMI, IOHO.
Award-winning writer/director Sara Dunlop's films are varied, stunning, cinematic, engaging, at times gut-wrenching, startling—you'd be hard-pressed to find one that doesn't deliver a myriad of feels. She follows what moves her, craves a good challenge, and is working on staying relaxed while being punched in the face... literally. We share her belief that everyone has an interesting story to tell, and we are grateful she agreed to hang out and tell us a bit of her own.

(3/4) LIFE AS SHE KNOWS IT
you don’t know Jack? Let’s remedy that.
We've all met someone who rolls untouchable, unfazed—simply at ease with themselves in the face of whatever they awake to each morning. They are a gift. And if you haven't, please do meet Jacqueline Sloman here. This conversation with them is an incredible hour that bettered our own understanding of what transness is, isn't, and can be. She shared too many amazing nuggets to grab just one... so we'll just say this: their advocation for DEI within the advertising industry while working major roles within it seems like just the first few chapters in what is sure to be a legendary story.

(3/3) GENTLE AMBITION
Finally, an ambition we can get behind.
Gentle Ambition. Say it aloud. Potent, right? It's a two-word moniker for a way of being that Melissa Andrada champions globally. We were living it without a name for it. Even so, neither of us was ready for the emotional ride of this powerful conversation.
It was a true honor to hear Mel's story behind the ethos, about her present journey, and to vibe with all the goodness she emits. Truly believe you'll feel it, too.

(3/2) SOME DARK SH*T
living life like a real-world Tim Burton character, it’s a quality goal
If you aren't already familiar with author Elle Nash, we are pleased as poison punch to make the introduction. Our conversation starts with her "origin story," fast tracks to her process, touches on a big move, then dives into her forthcoming gritty novel Deliver Me, which we were honored to read early. We read it fast, and it left us both the very best kind of floored.

(3/1) A YEAR IN…
gratitude for where we’ve been, gratitude for where we’re headed
What a gift it was to spend an hour together and rehash where we've been, what we've picked up, and think back on the amazing guests we had over year 1, seasons 1 and 2. In this episode, we revisit some of the themes still resonating with us and spill the beans on what we hope and dream season three can be. Thank you to everyone for listening, thank you to the guests who've been on the show, and thank you for helping us run eagerly into this new season!
(2/20) RADICAL OPTIMISM
because doom and gloom don’t do squat for anything
Wrapping up Season 2 of our show with Casey Rand was everything we hoped it'd be and more: A doom-free conversation about taking chances, following your heart, and in her case, using her numerous talents to tackle climate science misinformation and the under-performing communications around the problems. Let her journey and the calm she exudes in the face of unprecedented times serve as an inspiration as you yourself ponder, "What the hell can I do to steady the world?"

(2/19) A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
everyone has a story, and every story has power
Our first-ever repeat guest James Warren shares his latest revelations about the power all of our stories can have in reshaping business and, indeed, the world. And we think the SEEQ App his team has developed is sure to amplify the momentum of good change that storytelling creates tenfold.

(2/18) A VERY PUBLIC INFLUENCE
“failing” in public, perhaps the best medicine
Who is HAM? People have been asking the question long before we did. And like so many great conversations, our brief journey with talent Hamilton Glass starts with a story about a mother. His mother and the gifts she saw in him were integral in putting him on his path. From artist to architect to creator of many of the spectacular murals you may have seen in Richmond and elsewhere, Hamilton's story is both inspirational and occupational.

(2/17) A ROCKSTAR STATE OF MIND
all the benefits, none of the problems
This conversation with musician, producer, and visionary, Mark Ephraim was meant to be a bit about leaving the United States, expat-ism if you will, and it is that a bit still, but WOW did it turn out to be so much more. The word purpose didn't come up specifically, but in writing this blurb, it's a word that refuses to leave our heads. Mark has crafted a life around his purpose and if that isn't the truest definition of rockstar, Webster's can stuff it.

(2/16) AN IDEA NAMED ROSEMARY
might as well look good while saving the world
What can we do, if anything, as plebes to save the world? Not nothing, not everything. This chat with Ariele Rosch, founder of the eco-minded textile company Rosemary's Goods, is an excellent place to start. Even as it grows in popularity, doing what one can to encourage meaningful change in the world can feel heavy and impossible. Trust us: you are going to come out of the backend of this episode feeling impossibly light and gleefully ready to make an impact where you can! Maybe even doing so in style.

(2/15) NEXT-GEN LEADERSHIP
art meets military for the win
"Beans, boots, and bullets." It'd be doing this episode a disservice to skim into how that has anything to do with creativity within this promo blurb. We can say it factors large into this one-of-a-kind conversation we had with Vann Graves, the Executive Director of the Brandcenter at VCU. What an honor.
We offer you this: If you listen to what he had to say in this hour, we believe you can't NOT walk away a better leader than you were prior. Grateful that Vann carved out the time to speak with us, and blown away by his story and what he's doing now.

(2/14) DETROIT SHOCK CITY
write what you know, even if it terrifies you
"...from there it gets a little trippy." For over a decade, author Mark Matthews has been infusing the very real horrors he lived and still sees as a social worker and mental health advocate into incredibly original horror fiction. "Addiction Horror Fiction" that draws from his understanding and experiences. To read a Mark Matthew's novel is to accept that you will be explosively gut-punched at some point within the story. Maybe twice.
It was an honor to speak with him for this episode, not just because of his incredible tales, or how efficient his 31 years of sobriety have left him in discussing the disease, but because, as you'll hear, he is simply one very good, authentic, and decent dude.

(2/13) F_CK FEAR
save bears, no reasons to be scared
We called this episode F_ck Fear with only an inkling of where it might go, and our conversation with Thalia Mavros did not disappoint. It's borderline impossible to sum up all we talked about with the founder of The Front into an efficient blurb, so instead, let's just say it sent Benita and Peter into the weekend feeling powerful, grounded, and infinitely grateful to have had an all-too-short hour of Thalia's time.

(2/12) WOMEN’S WEALTH WARRIOR
shame-free conversations about cold hard cash
Our guest on this episode brought up a good point right away: we simply don't know how to talk about money... not in any real way, free of judgment and shame. Kristen Euretig is the Chief Planner and Founder of Brooklyn Plans and the vibe she offers around financial planning and wellness is smooth, positive, and, of course, informed.
Whether you consider yourself totally settled or in full-blown chaos mode, this conversation is sure to enlighten if not embolden you as you move forward. Have a listen and check out more about Brooklyn Plans at the link below.
